Mill’s
Riveri
In the village of Nossa Senhora de
Santana, one of the first sugar cane
mills was constructed in Bahia. Of
a great importance at that time, the
river called Rio Santana was then
recognized as Rio do Engenho. The
colonists there built a chapel that
is considered today the third oldest
in Brazil. It is reached by a beautiful
boat trip inside the mangroves. It
was first realized by the Portuguese,
at the time of the colonization of
Brazil, and the scenery is preserved
up to now.
